The main reason that people latch on to christianity is because they have been told that the bible is the ultimated source for absolute truth and goodness and they believe that to associate themselves with the bible and it's beliefs and claim to be a christian, also shows the general public that they themselves are an advocate and a living example for ultimate truth and goodness. Many people claim to be a christian without having ever read very many parts of the bible, many people claim to be a christian just so they will not look to be an outsider from their neighborhood peer group. The majority of people were publicly forced to join a church (religious cult) and become a member under intense peer pressure. None of them joined the religious cult because they had done previous research and intense study of the bible to confirm it's veracity before joining their religious cult. The majority of christians were coerced and falsely led to believe that the bible is a primary source for truth and if you don't join their religious cult then you are threatened by punishment in hell and are viewed as an advocate of satan and evil.

I can think of at least seven problems with believing in the biblical claims of miracles.1) We live in a scientific era whereas the claims of biblical miracles come from a prescientific era. New Testament scholar Rudolph Bultmann just calls them “myths” and says:
“The cosmology of the N.T. is essentially mythical in character.
The world is viewed as a three-storied structure, with the earth in the center, the heaven above, and the underworld beneath. Heaven is the abode of God and of celestial beings—angels. The underworld is hell, the place of torment. Man is not in control of his life. Evil spirits may take possession of him. Satan may inspire him with evil thoughts.
It is simply the cosmology of a pre-scientific age. To modern man . . . the mythical view of the world is obsolete. It is no longer possible for anyone seriously to hold the N.T. view of the world. We no longer believe in the three-storied universe.
No one who is old enough to think for himself supposes that God lives in a local heaven. There is no longer any heaven in the traditional sense. The same applies to hell in the sense of a mythical underworld beneath our feet. And if this is so . . . we can no longer look for the return of the Son of Man on the clouds of heaven.
It is impossible to use the electric light and the wireless and to avail ourselves of modern medical and surgical discoveries, and at the same time to believe in the N.T. world of spirits and miracles. My claim is that in our world miracles like a virgin birth, resurrection, and an ascension into the sky do not happen. What world are YOU living in? If miracles do not happen in our day then they never happened in first century Palestine either. And that's the end of it.

Jason Pratt made fun of me by saying this is a "category error":
Remember folks, if televisions and electric light switches didn't happen in first century Palestine, they couldn't happen in our day either. And that's the end of it.
But it's a category mistake to equate ordinary events with extraordinary ones. It's a category mistake to equate ontology (i.e., what actually happened) with epistemology (i.e., what we have reason to believe). And it's a category mistake to equate the results of science with the results of god-explanations which, to date so far, have always been wrong so the theist must continually move the goals posts as science solves the gaps of the past and uncovers new ones. 2) To believe that a miraculous event took place demands a near impossible double burden of proof.
What believers must show is that an event is not possible without a supernatural explanation (or at the very least very very very improbable). However, once they do that they must turn right around and claim such an impossible event probably took place anyway. On the one hand they must show said event is improbable, and on the other hand argue said event probably happened!!! Whatever they place in one hand they take away with the other hand. 3) Time itself is a problem. We are separated by 2000-3000 years from the biblical claims of miracles.
We cannot go back in time and interview eyewitnesses. To see this read about Lessing's Broad Ugly Ditch. I admit miracles might have happened in the past. But my claim is that even if they did there is no reason to think they did from a historian's perspective, which is the only one we have to know what happened in the past. In that sense if the historian does not see miracles in today's world then he cannot interpret the raw uninterrupted data of the past any other way but from his present perspective. 4) If believers provide a natural explanation for an event it is no longer miraculous, whereas if they don’t do this it’s very difficult to accept such an extraordinary claim. Once someone describes how it's naturally possible for there to be a virgin birth (if that could be done) at that point there is no longer a miracle. And if they cannot explain how it might have taken place it's simply unbelievable.5) Even if we agree with the Jews of Jesus' day that Yahweh exists and he does miracles this still does very little if anything to lead us in today's world to think Yahweh raised Jesus from the dead. Because a completely overwhelming number of Jews in Jesus' day did not think Yahweh did this particular miracle in this particular case. If they were there, and if they knew their Scriptures, and if they believed in Yahweh, and if they believed in miracles, but they didn't believe God raised Jesus from the dead THEN WHY SHOULD I believe? WHY SHOULD WE? 6) There is the intractable problem of how a God that is an immaterial spirit can actually interact with matter, unless they share something that allows him to act in the material world. If not, he can't act in our world. If so, then God must be at least partially a material being.7) Biblical miraculous claims can almost never be proof of the existence of God, for in order to accept such claim by a writer in the pre-scientific past, and having the double burden of proof mentioned above, a person must already believe in a miracle working God who works these kinds of miracles.

But where do we get those particular god beliefs--or Bayesian "priors"--from in the first place? We get those "priors" from our respective cultures. But that's not how we should justify why we believe. For each different culture provides its own different god "priors." We must defend our "priors" apart from how we we raised in our respective cultures. This is the adult way to examine our religion once we grow up and want to see whether we were taught correctly by our parents and significant others. My claim is that this cannot be done. And taking the Outsider Test for Faith is the best and only way to see this.

John 3:16: The expanded version

"For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life."

John 3:16. It's one of the most widely-quoted Bible verses.
It's been called "the Gospel in a nutshell", for its succinct summary of the New Testament's "message".
A verse as vital and revered as John 3:16 deserves proper examination in the light of the rest of Holy Scripture. Let's place it into the wider context of the entire Bible:

"For God so loved the world, that he...

Decreed sickness, painful childbirth, and death for all descendants of Adam and Eve;
Drowned every man, woman, and innocent child on Earth, save a handful;

Had countless animals blood let and killed for atonement of sins, loves the smell of burning flesh;

Slaughtered every man, woman, and innocent child in Sodom and Gomorrah;
Murdered countless babies in Egypt to impress a Pharaoh;

Explicitly allowed and even commanded slavery, the beating and murder of slaves, and the rape of slaves;

Ordered the execution of homosexuals, disobedient children, stubborn sons, blasphemers, non-believers, "witches", adulterers, complainers, anyone ignoring a priest or judge, anyone working on the Sabbath, anyone touching Mt Sinai, any woman whose father cannot produce bloody sheets as proof of marriage-night virginity, and any betrothed virgin who is raped but doesn't protest loudly enough;

Repeatedly commanded his people to capture and rape women after battles;
Established a law requiring that rape victims marry their rapists;

Commanded the Israelites to slay all Midianites, including women and innocent children – except for 32,000 virgins, who were to be saved for raping;

Commanded the Levites to attack each other, resulting in the deaths of 3000;
Allowed Lot to give up his daughters to a mob of rapists;
Caleb to give away his daughter as a battle prize; and a concubine owner to give his concubine to a mob of rapists (after which she dies and is dismembered);

Allowed His various champions to rip the flesh off captives; kill 69 brothers "upon one stone"; bring down a building on 3000 men and women; massacre inhabitants of cities with saws and axes; and throw 10,000 captives off a cliff;

Vowed to use lies and stumbling blocks to lure people into unrighteousness, then damn them eternally for it;

Inflicted various peoples with curses including pestilence, leprosy, fever, mildew, hemorrhoids, locusts, itching, blindness, dead livestock, slavery, madness, worms, burning, thirst, baldness, miscarriages, famine, hail, and fruitless olive trees;

Delivered a plague that caused women to boil and eat their children;
Welcomed human sacrifice, including Jephthah's burning of his innocent daughter; the Moab king's burning of his son; Josiah's offerings of burnt priests; and Abraham's willingness to slit a child's throat."

Yet let's not neglect the key message concerning Jesus in John 3:16. God showed us His Love in one more way:

"For God so loved the world, that he...

... gave his only begotten Son – to preach death, damnation, and eternal torment for disbelievers; to criticize Jews for not executing disobedient children; to defend Old Testament atrocities like slavery, massacres, and bloody thirsty laws; and to doom thousands of valuable pigs in a botched exorcism."

Why anyone in their right-mind would pretend to worship such a being is beyond me!

We were all primararly raised by our mothers, whom where nothing more than cowards, she cowarded down to our fathers and she also coward down to the Jesus icon, whom was also nothing more than a coward himself.

Rather than bravely face down your enemies, you love them to death, turn the other cheek, do unto others, nothing more than cowardice bullshit.

John 3:16 says, Just Believe!

John 3:16 is the persuasive verse for calling in a free rein of so many mindless Christian converts! John 3:16 was a statement from John, not from Jesus, John's statement is not theology that Jesus supposedly taught.

It says, just believe in Jesus, no requirements just believe, never mind the lies, absurdities and the atrocities and the rest of the mindless nonsense and murdering filth written in the Bible.

John 3:16 Suggests to people to just believe, without question, nor to examine the veracity of the Bible. To just believe, leaves the door open for all kinds of religious charlatans, many different denominations, frauds, crooks, snake oil salesmen, false preachers, false prophets, false popes, bishops, false priests, etc. to just believe, means you can do no wrong as long as you just believe!!

Never mind that the Bible god drowned millions of innocent people and animals to cleanse the earth of all wickedness and evil and it failed.

Never mind that Lots wife was turned into a pillar of salt just because she turned around and looked back, while it was perfectly alright that Lot's two girls got him drunk to have sex with him.

Never mind that god came back looking for Moses to kill him and his wife cut off his son's foreskin and threw it towards god and he changed his mind about killing Moses.

Never mind that god spent all that time trying to change Pharaoh's heart when he would not even try to prevent Hitler from killing over six million of his favorite people.

Never mind that he had to have his own son murdered for him to save people from their sins.

Never mind that god calls men to preach his words to beg for money, but yet the Bible god will not save a single little girl or boy or children from getting molested or shot in the head or from starving to death or horrendous diseases.

The Christians say, I just believe, that's all they need to do is just believe, they never have to question their pastor, the Bible, nor never have to read another word of the Bible, with no qualifications needed, they don't even need the education to nor eye sight to read, the only requirement is to just believe to be a Christian.

The Christian says, all I know it's the word of god, because grandpa said it was, or grandma said it was, or uncle Joe said it was true or aunt so and so said it was true,

I blindly believe, because my neighbor believes!

I believe because Billy Graham believes!

I believe because George Bush believes!

I believe because Jim Bakker believes!

I believe because Benny Hinn believes!

If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me!

A christian can lie, cheat, steal, molest children, or murder and many of them have done just that, and Jesus will forgive them, but if you don't "believe in him" you will go to hell!

The Bible doesn't have to make sense to them, it doesn't matter to them what nonsense is in the Bible nor how or when it was written, all they have to do is sit back and believe.

The majority of people converted to Christianity from peer pressure and the threat of hell. No one had enough courage to stand up and say, Wait a minute! I want to be absolutely sure and investigate that the Bible is true before I join this church! And I want to know exactly how and when it was written, and by whom? Most people joined just in case it all happens to be true and out of mindless fear!

To this day, there's absolutely no evidence for the Bible being true.

Christians constantly remind their phony god about how wonderful he is in spite of the fact he/she lets children starve to death daily and gives people (mostly christians) cancer and horrible diseases.

Why would anyone in their 'right mind' pretend to worship and give praise to a god that would allow over 6 million of his (favorite people) to be murdered, when the same god supposedly hardened Pharaoh's heart a bazillion times just to prove a silly and petty point?

The same god sat there and fooled around with the Pharaoh for how many years, and yet the same god never lifted a finger to help his favorite people, the Jews.

A god that would allow infants, children, pregnant women, the elderly, handicapped, sick and innocent people who where tortured and maimed and murdered, shot with machine guns and ripped apart and pushed off into open graves, with a bulldozer while many were still alive?

What kind of person will pretend to worship that kind of god and condone his very actions of not stepping in and putting an end to all that murder and suffering?

What kind of god would allow this to happen to anyone?????

ANSWER - Certainly not a loving bible god!

This very same god that is said to take a personal interest in people, yeah as long it's a Pharaoh or a King, or a so-called prophet, yeah no problem.

All this personal god would have had done is caused Hitler to have a stroke or a heart attack, or a stray bullet and no one would have know a god had intervened, but there is no god that takes a personal interest in anyone, because there is no god, period.

The self-elected title of Christian, Muslim, Mormon, Jew, apostle, disciple, minister, reverend, preacher, pastor, bishop, pope, are all titles imposed by false indoctrinated religious beliefs.

After having delved one's self into reading the Bible and by falsely thinking they have found absolute universal truth while seeking for answers for their own existence, the Bible believer is led to believe that they have been awarded the permission to elevate one's self to to the throne of self-righteousness, thinking they have accidentally found the best news a person could possibly stumble onto. Therefore the Bible persuades and convinces in the readers mind that they have found the absolute righteous universal truth that has secretly been revealed to them through the Holy Spirit by reading a book that claims to have been inspired with holy words written by ancient prophetic wise and clever sheep and goat herders that lived over 2000 years ago and was written with a message of divine revelation directed specifically towards the reader from the creator of the universe with their best interest in mind for the eternal destiny of their soul after they are deceased.

After accepting the Bible as absolute truth, the reader now perceives it as their chosen duty and righteous commission to take on the world and to save the lost sinners from the flames of hell with their steadfast ability to walk with god in unison and in his perfect righteousness, as if to say "This is my son with whom I'm well pleased!". Hence now the Bible believer is now ready to roll up their sleeves and do god's holy divine will and follow in his footsteps and without even considering to travel to other lands to save the lost multitudes, they conveniently stay here in America and eagerly proclaim their newly found ignorance among one another as if no one person living in America today has ever heard of the Bible, nor of the name Jesus, except for a lucky chosen few Christians, after having mined the Bible for it's shinny worthless iron pyrite tripe.

Just imagine what a supreme feeling it must surely be for the Christian to self-elect one's self to the position of disciple and apostle of the most powerful being to have ever been invented and endorsed by a bunch of uneducated sheep and goat herders around 2000 years ago, imagine what a pseudo feeling of self-aggrandizement it must surely be, while the rest of us nonbelievers are just lowly infidel atheists without a belief in imaginary beings to promote us up to a false level of saintly status.

The little one laying there sent to us by god to forgive us all for our sins, and no one would put them up for the night because they had no pity upon them and they were doing the best that they could under the circumstanses....weeping...awe....cryinging...tears flowing...violins and harps playing dreadfully sad music, poor little baby Jesus couldn't fend for himself because he didn't know yet that he was sent from god....weeping...tears....please bow down and worship him....oh...weeping crying and tears!

Pray for Jesus, oh pray ye always......weeping and tears!! What a blessing he is?

Pray that Jesus gets to go to be with his father and to be with him forever and ever....oh weeping and tears!!!

It's not very hard to understand why the white man so easily latched onto the ancient Abrahamic religions, they found that they could take control over people by using the words of a book that grants them the feeling of self-righteousness to which they believe gives them the justification to separate themselves from the nonbelievers and a god given right to label and give people titles in order rob, steal, maim and murder and over take other peoples lands, since anyone who does not believe as they do, they think that they are granted permission by their Bible for nonbelievers to be judged by them and to be called infidels, savages, or worthless sinners, and are considered less-than them whom they believe their souls are in desperate need of being saved, yet the Bible god is willing to forgive those that break his ten commandments, if only they profess to believe in his son.

The basis in which the Bible was written with the intent to control people's minds and to gain a share of their money, the Bible writers knew humans are very naive and they found that they were able to convince people that they are lacking or have a flaw and that they are in desperate need of your services or and you must convince them that they are in some way worthless and in need of salvation and you happen to have a plan for them to overcome their worthlessness. One way to get people to believe in your religion is to deceive people by the natural causation of death for instance, every person that has ever lived on this planet will eventually die, this is a 100 per cent fact. Therefore you incorporate the fear of death to convince people of your truth claim. To use the 100 per cent fact of death of every person is your sufficient proof to convince most people that what you are talking about is based solely in pure fact.

The Christian religion is built upon the question, "Do you know where you will spend eternity after you die?" Of course, the most logical honest answer would be, "I don't know and neither does anyone else!" But you, the originator of the religion, proffer that you have been given special information that has been bestowed upon you through a secret revelation from your creator, that only special holy righteous people are privileged enough to receive and that your creator has a special plan for you, if only you'll believe by faith, do not look for evidence nor question the teachings and you'll have a promise of paradise in heaven, but if you question the ignorance found in the Bible, then you will be sent to the hell that you so richly deserve.

Charlatans and con men cite the Bible using the proven fact of death to convince you the unsuspecting believer that by constantly reminding you of your imminent death that there is a reason why every person will die, and the reason is because you are a worthless sinner, and the wages of death is sin, you are reminded that next to god you are nothing, you are told that you were born into sin because your father and your mother had unholy impure sex and you were born into this world a nasty heathen infidel reprobate savage mongrel and you are a worthless sinner and you have a soul that is like filthy rags, that your soul needs to be cleansed, you're not worthy of your next breath, that human beings don't deserve to be on this planet, and we all deserve to be in a burning hell, but it's a gift of love and mercy and a miracle from god that he would even consider to allow people to exist, with an emotional appeal for you to have repentance of your sins and to cower down and submit to your creator in trembling fear.

So now the authors (fraudulent men) the creators of the Christian religion has invented a way out for you to redeem yourself, to rise above your worthlessness, it's a free gift, yours just for the asking, it's eternal life, all you have to do is believe that the creator god sent himself down from heaven disguised as himself to have his own life sacrificed in order to save your filthy wicked soul that if you will just believe that he sent himself down to be crucified and died for every ones sins by this you will enter the kingdom of heaven, but if you choose not to believe in him and accept this free gift you will be sent your deserving hell for all eternity. All this because he loves everyone so very much! What a guy, huh?

By now, most people are so emotionally encased in fear of their souls from being roasted in hell after being taught this from childhood by their parents, that they are willing to overlook the atrocities and injustices found all through the Bible and are unable to think clearly for themselves and are afraid to doubt one word of the Bible because of the threat of the fires of a flaming hell. At this point, "The glassy eyed Christians, hail, "I BELIEVE BY FAITH, I DON'T NEED EVIDENCE TO BELIEVE!"

Now the only problem with this type of insane ideology which is founded upon the fear of death and the unknown is;

Since every living thing, including all animals, all plants, all grasses, all trees, all sea creatures, all insects, all worms, all birds, every living thing will eventually die, a 100% proven fact.

Just what ungodly sin did all these creatures and plants commit to deserve the unwarranted penalty of death? What horrendous unholy sex act did they commit???Answer! Absolutely NONE!!!
NO SIN was committed, yet they are all doomed to die the punishment of death either at the hands of the righteous humans, or of NATURAL CAUSES!!!

Unscrupulous con men have found that they can conveniently use the fear of death to deceive people into believing that because a person will no longer exist, they can, falsely endorse their insane beliefs into your mind as a tool to convince you that your false religion and your fake god and his three in one son is true, because of the man invented lie of sin! Now if you claim to be a Christian, the charlatans have control of your mind, your precious time and a guaranteed share of your money.

If the wages of sin is death, then every living thing has committed a sin, every plant, every animal, all trees, all grasses, all birds, all sea creatures, all worms, all insects, etc.

The true honest answer is no one knows how any of us got here, when nor why. No human being has traveled past our moon approx. 265,000 miles out, the length of our galaxy is estimated to be 100,000 light years across. We only have human speculation of why we are here.

The Bible was written over 2000 years ago, stories scribbled down based upon rumors, gossip, handed down from generation to generation through oral tradition, invented dogmas, allegory, metaphorical lies, conjecture, speculation, ad hock, embellishments, invented stories and myths, misinterpreted and mistranslated by fallible human beings and not the inspired word of any gods or supreme being.

We are all taught early on in childhood not to question the beliefs, motifs, and irrational ideologies of our parents, we are taught that their ways are the right ways, regardless as we grow older of what we can see by our own selves that just what our parents believed just may not be true, we wrongly presume that our parents have already weighed the evidence of the bible for the source of absolute universal truth and their only motif for bringing us and all humans into this world is to fulfill the divine will of god by propagating the species, which makes the male father look pious and righteous in his eagerness to fulfill gods divine purpose.

The male now has the Bible for justification for jumping on the female and making her his sex slave and dominate her as if she were a common farm animal, to many men the Bible also gives the male justification to kill his wife. Look at the statistics at how many men/boys kill, rape, maim , beat, harm women/girls, as opposed to the total of females doing any harm to males.
For an example, google in, Elizabeth Smart, or Jessica Lumsford, or Amish school girls killed in Pennsylvania.

The majority of us Americans have been taught as we were growing up to be such supreme people pleasers all of our lives to the point that, we are afraid to stand up against our own parents religious beliefs and religious authorities. To take a stance against our parents religious beliefs is like stabbing them in the back and telling them where they went wrong in raising us, they just assumed that raising up a child in Christian beliefs was the only way to go and since this country was overtaken and conquered by religious Christian fanatics it only seemed fitting to them that Christianity is the only basis for religious up bringing. Since almost 100% of every person that they have ever met all their entire lives was also in fact a self-boasting - self-proclaiming christain.

They didn't raise us wrong in their minds, they just raised us in a country that was taken over by religious fanatics who foolishly believed that the Bible is the absolute word from a god.

So now being grown adults, Christians not only want to be sure that they please everybody in the community, but they want to please Jesus too by being a good little Christbots and be sure to follow all the Christian rules, set forth in the Buybull and the rules set forth by their pastor to be a shinning example of Christianity and the religious community.

Once in a rare occasion a person steps out and gets brave enough to oppose the irrational ideology of Christianity, it is then perceived as opposing the whole entire community of brainwashed nitwits, therefore the Atheist is outcast and ostracized for their willingness to stand up against the accepted irrational teachings, now you're perceived as an enemy of them and their religion, they are ready to view it as persecution towards them and now this further impounds in their minds that their irrational ideology is the one that they have chosen the Bible wisely to be the one true correct path of guided righteous truth.

Well it's official, the date to the end of the world as we know it has been officially prophesied!

I was once an Atheist, I never committed any serious crimes.
I always treated people fair and just, just like I wanted to be treated, I never even thought of stealing or robbing a bank or molesting little girls or boys why? Because I've always known it was wrong, How did I already know this? Because people are put here by no choice of their own and it's just not right to violate other people rights. But now, since my walk with Jesus, I am saved, I gave my heart to Jesus, and now I can commit any crime, I can lie, cheat, steal, molest children, smoke cigarettes, drink beer, wine, deceieve people, commit adultry, whatever I choose to do, because I now know in my heart, that no matter what crime or sin that I commit against another person or thing, I can always run back to Jesus and get instant forgiveness.

Anyone would be a fool to be an Atheist, when you become a Christian, you have an open rein of sins that you are allowed to commit. The master forgiver is Jesus and he is ready to forgive you 24-7. Don't worry about the laws of the land written by men, it's Jesus that holds the key to forgiveness and eternal justice.

Christians claim there is a loving god whom created the entire universe in just six days and they claim this god watches over them and protects them through their prayers and worship, and Christians think it is necessary to continually tell this god how wonderful he is with praise and song...BUT!!!

The insane tale is about a virgin girl who gets pregnant from a god living in the clouds above, but she happened to be blessed and gave birth to a god child, whom unbeknownst to him was the son of god, so he played along, seeing how ignorant and gullible people wanted to believe that he was their along awaited chosen messiah.

So he goes along the city where people are in total misery are awaiting their miracle and so he tells them they have nothing to fear because they will be in heaven which exactly what they wanted to hear, if they just would believe, and people wanting to believe so much they claim he had performed a miracle and they are were so impressed that the Jesus character in the myth that he begins to believe that he, himself is in fact from a god.

So he begins to pray to himself and feels so implicitly pious and calls himself god, but when he gets up on the cross to die, he starts loosing faith that the is the messiah and wonders just what the hell is going on?

Then after it's way too late, he finds out that it was he who was all along, being played for the fool, and that he was never a god, nor even had an association with any god or gods, and to this very day is considered by atheists the biggest fool that ever was invented in a story that is entirely pure myth and a total fabrication by an insane goat herder who thought the world was flat and that diseases were caused by demons and witch spells.

According to google, there are at least 2 billion self-claimed christians world-wide that believe a god and jesus exists and are constantly listening to and answering their prayers daily.

If only 1 percent of those christians are praying at any given time, that would mean that their god and jesus are receiving approximately 20 million prayers in a 24 hour period, this would calculate to 833 thousand prayers per hour or 140 thousand prayers per minute that would calculate to be (2,300), 2 thousand 300 prayers received by their god and jesus per second and spoken in over 2 thousand different languages completely understood and answered prayers.

So by this theory of just 1 percent of christians praying, the christian god and jesus are listening to, analyzing, answering and acting upon at the very least, 2,3oo prayers per second. By these figures god and jesus cannot get anything done like clean the toilets or wash the windows in heaven because they are having to work overtime hours with just answering prayers. Satan has absulutely nothing to do, because no christain prays to satan for their petty and selfish desires, besides satan just don't give a damn about clean toilets or windows.

Now if only 2 percent of people pray at any given time you can just double the figures and so on up to the 100 percent mark to, 2 billion prayers per hour.

This does not include prayers claimed to be heard and answered by Muslims, Catholics, Jews, or any other religious sect.

I said, you don't believe diseases are caused by demon possession, evil spirits, and witch spells do ya? He said, well no!
Just to be not disagreeable, I think.

I said, they also thought that the earth was flat, you don't believe that the earth is flat do ya? He said, well no!

I posited, that they also thought that the earth was at the center of the universe, I asked, you don't believe the earth is at the center of the universe do ya? He said well no!

I said that they also thought that the heart was the center of all thought and emotion, and that they believed that the bible god spoke to humans through the heart, and that the heart could weep, or jump for joy, get hard or soft, or wax cold, has doors, also has a rudder, but we now know through medical research that the heart is a pump which pumps blood and it is the brain that is the center of all thought and emotion, I said surely the creator god of all things would have known that the brain is the center of all thought and emotion, Would you not agree? Also the NT was not written until 30-100 years after jesus' supposed death, and the original names of the authors are unkown, the names Paul, Mark, Luke, Matthew, John, were names given unto the writers and are of English origin, and are names not common to the area in which the bible was supposed to have been written. I also told him that before the white colonists came over here, there had not been a bible, a church, a black slave, nor the English language, on American soil. I said if you will notice there are no Indian grave markers to be found here on the east coast, because they did not believe in the bible god nor their jesus, but all the christians are burried beside their church claiming to be in the waiting arms of jesus.

The white christians used the bible as justification for killing all the infidel Indians, (they were not infidels, they were real human beings). I said, Why do you think that the Indians were granted a privilege to run casino's, a privilege that the white man is not allowed to have? It because of the mistreatment of the Indians by the white man. The white man killed and slaughtered millions of Indians by cutting their heads off, burning their homes with children and the elderly inside and claimed their land as their own, with no pity upon them unless they convert to christianity. He said, you're right!

I said, the bible writers also thought that prayer worked, He said his back hurt him real bad one day and he prayed to jesus to heal it and he did, and I said why would jesus heal your back when there are thousands of children around the world starving to death every day and yet he chooses to ignore their prayers for food? He had no answer for this. I said god nor jesus will heal amputees, why not? He had no answer for this!

I told him that nothing fails like prayer! I also told him there is a very true saying, "Two hands working will get more done than, one thousand hands clasped in prayer."

I said that surely at least one of the 6 million Jews had prayed for god to intervene and to save them from the Nazi death camps, yet millions of god's favorite people were killed as untold thousands of them were bulldozed into mass graves while praying to their false bible god as they were being burried alive, yet your bible god sat idly by and did exactly what he has always been famous for doing, absolutely nothing!

I told him that the bible god could have caused Hitler to have a heart attack, or a stroke, or a tree limb could have fallen on his head or a stray bullet inter into his body and kill him and no one would have known that the bible god had intervened, yet he chose to do what he always been known to do, absolutely nothing! So with that being said, Christians don't have a snowballs chance in hell to have any favors done for them, if he will not do anything for his own favorite people.

I mentioned the Noah's Ark fiasco, I said that the bible god had commissioned a 600 year old drunkard to build a boat and fill it up with all the animals in order to flood the earth to rid the world of all evil and wickedness, and the first thing Noah did when the flood was over, he got drunk and then very soon in the same chapter of Genesis, we have the wicked city of Sodom and Gomorrah, so what happened to the brilliant plan to rid the earth of all wickedness and evil? It didn't work did it? He had no answer for this.

They also made up that a rainbow was a promise from the bible god not to flood the earth, but we now know that rainbows are the result of the prisim effect seen by our eyes from the reflection of water molecules against a light source.

Also it took the bible god only six days to create the universe, but yet it took him forty days and nights just to write the ten commandments. Were the ten commandments a greater task for the bible god than creating the entire universe in just six days? He had no answer for this.

I asked, Do you really believe there exists a god that is (that ignorant?), to have a man to take many years to build a boat and retrieve all the animals to rid the world of all wickedness and evil and it didn't work? He said, no I guess not! I can tell at this point, that maybe he's finally coming around to his senses.

Humans cannot be held accountable, nor to blame for things that they had no part in creating, humans never created the universe, neither did humans create an Earth, nor did they create a garden of Eden, nor a tree of knowledge of good and evil, neither did they create an evil being, nor a talking snake, nor did they create a hell to put people in who do not believe in them, nor can humans be held accountable for the regretful wrongs done by the blundering god of the bible.

Christians can easily identify with their fallible bible god, because humans are fallible and they believe they were made in the image of their fallible bible god, therefore he is just like them, which should make one realize that the bible god was made in the image of humans invented with their own fallible minds.

All of us having been put on this earth without our on choosing, we tend to grasp on to ideas and ideologies that tend to invest themselves into our own best interest especially, religions.

In other words without your ego being built up by religions, you do things that you would not normally do, you may go out of your way for people to perceive you as being the type of person that you're not.

You may want people to perceive you as a kind, nice, generous person. Perhaps you are a nice, kind, generous person, but you may intentionally do things that other people will see you do in order to get praise.

You may even be motivated to do things that you think will earn you praise and recognition from a phantom savior called, Jesus.

Is that not what religions are all about? Looking for praise and in hopes looking for some form of earned recognition from an imaginary dead man named, Jesus?

Would not the first church that was ever built, would it have been built if it were not for some poor ignorant fool looking for some type of praise or reward from an imaginary savior?

What use would a church or mosque be for, except looking for some form of expected praise and recognition from a dead zombie savior called Jesus or Allah?

That's the reason so many people flock to a church on Sunday, it's not to get the latest scientific information, or to hear the local news, it's to get your much needed praise or pat on the back from a flying dead zombie called Jesus, because you've been told if you do not do as jesus would want you to do, then you are taking a chance with going to hell.

I would be willing to say that at least 99.99% of all Christians do not fully understand the implications of their becoming a Christian and being forthright by claiming to be a Christian meaning well, but not being made aware of all the details of Christianity by omission.

Most Christians become Christians from feelings of guilt and peer pressure put upon them by a pastor or some very close acquaintance. The pressure to be like them, so that the acquaintances that are already Christian will not feel so alone and singled out. Christians are so proud and smug to be associated such a good thing, to belong to a unique elite club run by god, the top boss figure of the entire universe. Most people don't want to be left out of a guaranteed good thing.

Who in their right mind would not want to belong and join the most powerful elite army in the whole universe, where no adversary could ever overcome them? Every person selfishly wants to be on the winning team. Belonging to god's holy army to fight evil, corruption and sin and walking in the footsteps of Jesus and saving souls right and left, for you to get a reward for all the souls that you have helped to transform using you as a vessel to keep those filthy sinners out of hell. It was like that in elementary school, when you knew the answer to a simple question and you quickly raised your hand desperately waving your arms sideways hoping the teacher would pick you because you wanted the rest of the class to see how brilliant you were. It's the same thing for Christians they want so much to impress their god.

Christians have been misled to think that they are a fighting force against the face of evil and they're doing it all for whom? GOD!, the most powerful entity that has ever existed from the beginning of time. The creator of all living things wants you to do his bidding. He wants you to go out an spread his message of salvation, no matter what the cost is to you! If you get shot and killed, so what? You become a martyr for his cause. Many Christians will say that Jesus was using a metaphor to imply eating his body by dipping his bread into a cup of wine, but this is not true.

The disciples were in total shock themselves verified by reading John 6:52, The Jews strove among themselves, saying, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat? " Jesus didn't say, "I was just kidding!"

The bread was to represent Jesus' body and the wine was to represent his blood as he talked and lived at that moment but by going further on to John 6: vs 53, Jesus commanded and plainly instructed the disciples to eat his body after his death!

Still being verified as a total shock to the disciples is displayed by reading John ch. 6 vs 60, Many therefore of his disciples when they heard this, said, "This is hard saying; who can hear it?"

It was a hard saying, because commanding someone to eat another human beings' flesh and drinking their blood is an insane act of desperation! Especially when there was no immediate need for food and there was no impending call for that type of desperation for survival.

This call for cannibalism is largely overlooked by pastors and theologians, because it would destroy people's need to believe in a imaginary savior and would crush the church community in a very instant and it would also crush the pastors means of financial support.

But it's right there for the viewing, Jesus emphatically implied that if you going to go through with his crucifixion, then there must be a price to be paid by the very same people who allowed for the crucifixion to be followed through and then he would see who his loyal following would be after his death.

A little while before his death, someone asked who will stand up for this man and not one person stood up for Jesus, not even his own mother.

Before every meal we prayed to thank god and jesus for all our food and for everything that we had, because we believed they provided for us and without them, we would all starve to death or fall over dead from lack of respect of god and Jesus, but mainly because we were afraid they would punish us with diseases and or we would be sent to hell, just like millions of ignorant Americans believe today in 2010. (or insert Allah and Mohammad)

There were always Bibles, gospel tracts, or religious books from Billy Graham or gospel records and religious effigies laying around and false pictures of Jesus all through the house, apparently you need to keep the mind continually focused on jesus, or you will be sent to hell. Everything that made us happy, momma said it was from god, everything that upset us, or we didn't agree with, momma said it was caused by the mean ole devil.

We were told at an early age to always respect and honor our parents and elders, and religious authorities and to never question anything they say, because we wrongly presumed that they had rigorously questioned and filtered out all the inconsistencies of life and all religious beliefs before passing them on to us, we just knew that they had all the complexities of life completely figured out.

We just knew that our parents would not intentionally mislead us, I mean look at all the churches on every street corner, just seeing all those churches proves to us in our minds that christianity and the bible must certainly be true. All the preachers on TV and Billy Graham, a grown adult, surely he would not lie to us and mislead us, we put our faith in him and his word that the bible is 100% what he says it is. We are thinking with all the believers in christianity, we blindly assume it must surely be true, we wonder how could so many normal looking people be tricked or fooled into believing in a pack of useless lies?

Momma cleaned our butts and wiped our noses and we went to sleep in her arms while she sang Jesus loves me or some other religious song she had heard. Momma was certainly a true christian woman. When we misbehaved, momma set us on the straight and narrow, she fixed our lunches, and put us safely on the bus, and she was waiting for us when we got off of the bus that same day.

We went to church every Sunday and had to rush to be sure we got there on time, we sure as hell didn't want to disrupt those important services, or you would get the mean eye from the preacher and the congregation, and from being late you were interrupting God's house, and so you could see all the people mindlessly trudging into church as if an invisible force were pushing them in and they were soon nodding in agreement with the preacher. They were putting on as if they were happy to be there, they were wearing their very best clothes and their new shinny shoes and you could smell their cheep counterfeit cologne. I always knew I wasn't happy to be there, thinking I'd be going to hell for being somewhere else.

The collection plate was always major part of the services, never once was the collection plates never passed, people felt an obligation to tithe their hard earned money, and never once, did I see the preacher put any money in the offering plates, I guess he was immune to tithe, since what he was saying was the main attraction for the day to be meted on for the rest of the week.

A lot of people would attempt not to fall asleep during the long boring services.

There was always some squabble about the choir leader or the deacons about some issue going on secretly within the church. Some preachers got kicked out of their churches.

I always wondered how people could kick out a god-called preacher out of a god-ordained church?

Christians were regularly invited into our home and prayer and gospel songs were always a part of the visit.

Preachers were treated as if special above others and frequently showered with gifts of food, extra praise and money and sometimes given in secret.

The preacher never ever smiled or grinned, because he always wanted you to know he was in the business of being serious, because he was personally responsible for the destiny of your soul.

We always had a plague on the wall saying, "God Please Bless This Home."

A flood or tornado ravaged your neighborhood and destroyed our home.

We were told that God was trying to bring people back to him, or send someone in the neighborhood a personal message. Someone in the community had fallen away from god, whatever that means.

We had nowhere to go, we lived in a squabble for months, but god came through, we got a FEMA low interest loan...praise god, and thank you jesus!

You believed in god with all your heart and soul, and never even once in your whole life did it occur to you that there just may be no god, or that the Bible may not be true, but instead a bunch of garbage compiled by a group of roaming nomads.

Then one day, while talking to someone outside of your family, the person says to you, “What are you talking about? There is no God. It’s all a figment of your imagination, the bible, it's an ancient old book filled with lies, fables and myths.”

Then one day you think to yourself, "I've always had my doubts, but were always afraid to doubt the bible, because if you doubt the bible, you will be struck down by lightning!"

Imagine living to around 30 years old and having never giving even one second thought that, there just could possibly not be a god and momma was wrong and she had got fooled and hoodwinked into believing in such biblical nonsense?

But momma was terrorized by her tyrannical father when she was a little girl and then terrorized by her overly dominating husband and then she was mentally traumatized from giving childbirth and she had been lied to by her parents about the bible, and her parents before her had been lied too, also.

That is perhaps the reason by the time we reach around the age of 17 or 18 we’re ready to get out away from the home to see if other people perceive the world as our parents did.

We’ve all heard the old wives tales and the false rumors about how the world is coming to an end as soon as Jesus decides to come back at just any moment in time and to be prepared and ready to meet your maker and to make peace with your creator because the moment is nigh and you must be prepared to meet death at any second.

We’ve heard all of the fear mongering and felt all the feelings of guilt from the very moment we heard that we were not worthy to even be alive, how we were all born in (sin), and if it were not for the very grace of god, none of us would even be here at all, and so on to ad-nausium.

We’ve all heard about how god placed man on the earth and to dominate the woman and subdue the earth and to have children and multiply the earth for the glory of the lord, yada, yada, yada, and all the other complete udder ridiculous manly self-righteous nonsense and it just never occurred to our parents it was all just a beautiful ridiculous lie.

It's really a shame for someone such as our parents and all our kin to have lived up to 80 and 100 years old and never drew a sane breath wasting their precious time and hard earned money trying to please and appease invisible man-made beings written down in ancient 2000 year old religious books.

What would you do in this case?

Since you are omnipotent, you created everything, you know everything there is to know, after all you are a GOD, right?

Since you are a god, and you allowed Sin to exist in the first place, right?

What would you do to eliminate all sin?

The most obvious choice would be to,

IMPREGNATE A YOUNG VIRGIN GIRL WITH YOUR PRECIOUS MIGHTY SPERM...!!!

After all, it gets mighty lonesome out there in space at night, perhaps this may be your first peace of nooky, ever!

So after many thousands of years of careful planning and much contemplation, you've cleverly devised a secret way to reveal yourself in the flesh and in human form on the earth.

Now, in what little time you have on earth, you must convince as many people as you can that you yourself are in fact the god from the clouds above, by reciting ancient scripture and performing miracles as soon as you can.

No one is going to believe that you are a god just by performing miracles, you need to really amaze a large group of people by overcoming death before their very eyes and rising to the clouds and returning to earth to prove to them that you are in fact the god from the heavens above.

This feat will not only amaze certain people, but will also give people hope and allow people to believe that you exist and have faith in you and by cheating death, and by doing this you will also take on all the sins of the world, but for only those that will accept the fact that you were willing to die for all us worthless sinners.

In other words, instead of just snapping your fingers and completely eliminating all sin and evil from the universe by just using your thoughts and be done with it, you decide it would so much simpler to have yourself sent down by an invisible ghost and inseminate an innocent young girl and disrupt her plans for the rest of her life, and by selectively deceiving the entire world's population that you came to earth disguised as a god in human form and that whosoever would override their own common sense and pretend to believe such insane and unbelievable story, and fight with the truth within their own minds all of their days, that they would live forever along with you, just because they have to force themselves to believe by faith only with absolutely no proof, that you did in fact devise such an insane and ignorant way to eliminate sin.

Once again, I am reminded of the primary difference between a "true" Christian and non-believers.

Here is a quote from a Christian in the forums:

This is an example of a common belief shared exclusive to believers. They have been taught to believe that they are better than anyone else, because God touched them and made them special. The New Testament describes "wolves in sheep's clothing"(Mt 7:15) causing us "to believe a lie"(2Thess. 2:11), and to beware of "cunningly devised fables"(2Pet 1:16). But the authors are describing themselves. Furthermore, believers become "wolves in sheep's clothing" whenever they speak of their mean-spirited religion. They are killing us with kindness whenever they speak of salvation, hell and and the solution called god's love. They are not the solution. They are the problem.

Hi everybody! It's me, your creator, I am not a God as defined in the man's fallacy book, you call the Bible.

A God has attributes and emotions that are similar to a human and can easily be described by mere human beings, I myself, cannot be described. What I am is way beyond what any human being could ever describe or even remotely imagine with their weak imbecilic mind.

I the creator, created the universe and it is still being created. All those books and scriptures written about me are just fallacy, men's imaginary portrayal and perception of what a God would be like had they themselves been a God. Absolute proof that humans are very close descendants and related to -

Dinosaurs and all animals

From my recent visit to the local museum I noticed a 14 million year old Dinosaur skeleton, (you know, dinosaur bones that were dug up by scientists from being planted in the ground by Satan to confound the foolish and deceive the wise), from my very keen observation, I noticed the skeleton and bone structure to be very similar to humans. There was the rib cage, just like humans to protect the heart, the skull, very similar, just larger, the hip bone, almost exactly the same shape as a human hip bone, the femur, knee joint, shin bone, the feet, almost identical to humans, even toe nails, just much larger than a human.

Also this animal had a skin covering, and blood coursing through it's veins, being pumped by it's heart, and a brain to guide it and make intelligent and thoughtful decisions, and two eyes, just like humans, huge teeth, a digestive system, a tongue, muscles, ears, nerve endings for touch and pain receptors, all animals have this, including humans.

Anyone with practical common sense can tell that humans are just land animals, no different than any other animal that has ever roamed the earth.

Humans learned to scratch symbols on to lime stone rocks and thought that they were being guided by a god to write the nonsense that they believed this god they imagined in their minds, had wanted them to write down.

Humans are just animals, no better nor different than all land animals.

The bible was written by people whom tried to equate humans as being more valuable and more worthy than conventional land animals, so they invented an attached soul, which cannot be proven to exist, nor has a soul ever been seen by anyone. Yet the very same people declare that an animal has no soul, how very convenient.

Perhaps if all other animals could write too, they might declare for themselves that they are the one's with an exclusive soul and humans have no soul.

A Long Overdue Apology From The White Man

Remember? The wonderful human beings that were already here? The human beings that the white man wants to conveniently forget and wants to keep this nation in a delusional fluster with his pseudo form of democracy of governmental politics and religion?

Columbus had no idea that a continent as large as America even existed, Columbus wasn't sent here to this land on a mission from the Bible God to seek out infidels and sinners and to save their souls from a make believe burning hell. The Native Peoples had already discovered this land and lived here quite content for over 10,000 years without the knowledge of a Bible god, a church, Jesus savour, heaven, hell, or invisible souls or black slaves nor carried their diseases. The Native Americans never put in a request for someone to send them an awaited white christian saviour.

This land does not belong to the white man, it never has, it belongs solely to the Native America People.

I did not intentionally mean to take away their land, I never even realized until a couple years ago that this land did not belong to the white people.

I was born 55 years ago, weren't automobiles and paved streets, airplanes and telephone poles, white and black people, TV dinners, and the White House, always here? I was never told that this land belonged to someone else, I had no perception that it did not belong to us white and black Americans.

I had been lied to by my government, not only that, but the whole entire white and black American public has been lied to, intentionally by omission. Our history books have been embellished to make us all think and believe that this land was discovered by some great white man explorer, and he was being led on a mission from the Bible god to discover great lands and lead the inhabitants to salvation. And then we proudly say our great forefathers were knowledgeable and heavily steeped in Christian morals.

What happened to "Thou Shalt Not Kill?" it is conveniently overlooked when it opposes the Christian agenda, isn't it?

What happened to "Love Thy Neighbor As Yourself" the Christian creed? What A blatant lie!

The Christian Pilgrims said that they came over here to flee from religious persecution, and then themselves come over here and persecute and murdered all the Native American Indians? What a friggin lie!

If the Christian creed was in effect, there would have been no need to have killed one Indian, there's no reason the Christian pilgrims could not have lived peacefully together to this very day. The difference is that the rifle spoke for their imaginary god, the Indians were out gunned in the beginning, had the Indians had firepower there would be no white Christians nor any of their religious propaganda brainwashing boxes on American soil today.

We need to make humongous retribution and reparations to the Native America peoples but it's way too late, hundreds of years way too late, millions of innocent Native Americans have been killed, slaughtered, maimed, raped, bludgeoned, stripped and alienated and forcibly removed from their own land and put on reservations, all this murder and genocide being justified by the words written down in a book called the Bible brought over here by Christopher Columbus in 1492.

The white mans religion has been cultivated by indoctrination through so many white and black generations that the Bible is now considered standard by most Americans as an absolute undeniable true fact.

My apology falls way too late, we cannot erase what happened, we live as if this land was given to us as a gift from the Bible god, this nation still uses the Bible and it's ancient murderous philosophy as a justification for conquering and policing other people's land to kill human beings that do not believe as we think they should believe, it was god's will that we discovered the atom bomb, so we used it and then celebrated upon killing hundreds of thousands of innocent human beings, is it any wonder that the USA is in dire straights, in the shadows of economic collapse? What if all the Native American Indians that were killed and slaughtered by the god blessed christians could come back and view their own land would they be impressed, would it meet their approval?

RIO DE JANEIRO, Brazil — One of Brazil's last uncontacted Indian tribes has been spotted in the far western Amazon jungle near the Peruvian border, the National Indian Foundation said Thursday.

The Indians were sighted in an Ethno-Environmental Protected Area along the Envira River in flights over remote Acre state, said the Brazilian government foundation, known as Funai.
Funai said it photographed "strong and healthy" warriors, six huts and a large planted area. But it was not known to which tribe they belonged, the group said.
"Four distinct isolated peoples exist in this region, whom we have accompanied for 20 years," Funai expert Jose Carlos Meirelles Junior said in a statement.
The tribe sighted recently is one of the last not to be contacted by officials. Funai does not make contact with such Indian tribes and prevents invasions of their land to ensure their autonomy, the foundation said.
Survival International said the Indians are in danger from illegal logging in Peru, which is driving tribes over the border and could lead to conflict with the estimated 500 uncontacted Indians now living on the Brazilian side.

And they are already calling them "Indians" how typically foolish.

The Bible god about two millennium ago, realized that souls needed to be saved from the sins that were committed by Adam and Eve, sins from which the Bible god allowed to permeate in the first place.

So god sent his sperm down from heaven via an angel to inseminate a virgin girl so he could walk the Earth as a god but disguised as a human being, performed a few miracles and lived 32 years then was crucified returned to Heaven and now lives with himself, on the right hand side of himself in paradise.

So the Bible god returned back to god status from where he started from in the first place, wasn't much of a sacrifice, would you agree?

And now will send people to hell for not believing that he came to Earth disguised as his own son.

Imagine that!

I used to set in church on Sundays and wonder to myself, "Why would anyone remotely take a chance in not believing in god and go to hell? I would wonder why would anyone like Marilyn Murray O'Hara openly profess to be an atheist? I was constantly reminded by our pastor that Atheists or anyone that did not believe in the Christian doctrine were destined for certain hell fire punishment. I was wondering why would anyone reject the gift of eternal salvation when all anyone had to do is openly confess the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal savior with their mouths, how much trouble and inconvenience could that be to anyone?

Since I was entrenched in religion at a very young age, it didn't even occur to me to question the Biblical teachings. I thought, hadn't Christianity always been around, had not god always existed and that he just could not convince everyone that he and his son was in charge of everything and he needed and desired constant praise and worship and he just needed witnesses to help him spread his holy gospel of salvation.

While sitting in church, I would think my my, wouldn't it be nice if the Lord Jesus came back now while I was sitting there in the house of God, even if I wasn't fully convinced it was all true, I knew in my mind that I was secure just by being in God's house, if anything happened that would require me to lose my life at that instant, that God would be looking after me just because I happened to be in the right place at the right time and would surely be protected for just being in God's holy house of truth.

Now almost 50 years later, when I can fully recognize the hypocrisy and the ridiculous and insane teachings and unjust actions of other so called Christians and pastors, I now realize I was badly misled, I was in fact lied to, it wasn't even a good lie, it was a lie that has been handed down from generation to generation of white people whom came over to this country and stole this land from it's original owners, (the red-skinned human beings that were here first), the one's that never heard of the Bible God nor Jesus, the one's that had no reason to believe in such nonsense that was written thousands of years ago by Arabs, who no doubt were using hallucinogenic drugs and wrote down what they imagined in their minds during their drug experience and called it inspired by a god.

Now I realize that religions are a jet-powered lie with flames shooting out of it's tail, that cannot be stopped, because it's an infectious disease that is spread from human to human by using metaphoric affirmations with emotional appeal that appears to the unsuspecting person as the Bible claims for itself as being the absolute truth, when all along it's just a total lie.

It's a lie that is easily passed on and indoctrinated to children, indoctrinated just like the native language in your area is spoken, when a 5 year old child can speak it's native language fluently without having ever read a book on the subject, this is called indoctrination by association and verbal mimicry of word sounds, thus too, mimicry of religious metaphoric affirmations and religious beliefs.

By constantly hearing religious affirmations from adults, this confirms in a young persons mind of it's validity, they think that those religious affirmations must surely be true, otherwise surely grown adults would not intentionally mislead anyone would they?

Perhaps grown adults would not intentionally mislead anyone, except for that they too were mislead themselves by their parents before them and their grand parents mislead their parents before them.

In the end, the Bible is used to justify the killing of the red-skinned human beings that were here first and owned this land and was mostly killed off by the white man using his salvation Bible and religion as justification for killing most of all the native indigenous peoples and stealing their land and it has been handed down from white generation to white generation that the Bible is the absolute truth, which is a total lie.

It has been told that it was through the will of God that Christopher Columbus had discovered America, which is a total lie because he thought that he had found the West Indies, that's why he called the human beings already here, Indians, he didn't label them Americans, he wasn't looking for America, he was looking for a trade route shortcut to the West Indies, by taking a huge chance that he and his crew would fall off of the edge of the flat earth.

The people that wrote the Bible were common sheep and goat herders, the only knowledge or information that was available at that time was either handed down from generation to generation from hearsay, dreams, visions and revelations.

What people believed and thought 2000 years ago:

The earth is flat, and it has four corners, the Sun revolves around the earth.

The earth is the center of the universe, the earth sets on a pillar.

That a god and Jesus lived in the clouds above and required constant praise and worship and could tell what people were thinking, and they could talk to them and the gods were emotional and got upset just like them.

Diseases were caused by demons evil spirits, and spells by witches.

They believed that diseases could be cured by prayer.

Dreams, visions, and prophets were sent from a god above.

Miracles and blessings, virgin birth, angels, speaking in tongues, snakes, bushes and donkeys can talk.

Water can be turned into wine, the blind can be made to see, and people could be raised from the dead.

Someone could live in the belly of a whale for three days and nights.

The heart is the center of all thought and emotions.

The heart has a door, eyes, ears, cry, weep, break, speak, sing, dance, burn, has strings, gets bitter or angry, gets hard or soft, has a rudder and can be steered, leap or jump for joy, can harden and wax cold, goes out and leaves, can be opened or closed, commits sins, can cheat, has emotional feelings, the heart can tell you what to think and say.

They also thought that by crucifying a man that claimed to be a god would somehow save their souls.

How preposterously and ridiculously insane?

The word “brain” is nowhere used in the Bible, is there any wonder why?

We now know in the 21st century, from the invention of the microscope, that most diseases are caused by bacteria, germs, and viruses, and not demonic and evil spirits and witch spells.

Religion is a mental illness.
Some ex-Christians like to argue theology and history, attacking the problems with the Bible.
I, too, can do this as well as anyone. I've read several books on the subject, and while indeed there are hypocrisies, inaccuracies and contradictions on literally every single page of the Bible, pointing out these problems to Christians is like pointing out why alcohol is bad for alcoholics.

They are too addicted to see the flaws with what they are addicted to, and how it does not actually solve their problems. People suffering from mental illness are also incapable of understanding CONTEXT. This is why, when you have discussions or arguments with the mentally ill (in this case Christians), it is so frustrating. Their brains have been de-wired for understanding a discussion in its actual context. Reading the responses from Christians we can easily see that they have NO IDEA WHAT THEY ARE SAYING. Their words they type or speak or think will always revolve around allowing the disease that has claimed them to exist. They are afraid of facing it; they are afraid of freedom and happiness. So instead of acknowledging points made time and again, this will always be the end result. No matter how cogent your point or argument, the Christians will always regress to that knee-jerk childlike state where their minds shut down and succumb to the call of their addiction. Some people call this faith, and admire it. I call it what it is: a disease. A sickness. A psychological, emotional imbalance in the brain of a victim.

Faith as a mental disorder, I personally feel that the only way to deal with Christianity is to treat it as the mental disorder that it really is. This cuts right to the heart of the problem; it does not give Christians an easy way out. Of course they will try to twist words and turn the argument around in their favor, but in the face of direct accusations about their illness they always crumble.

If everyone dealt with the religiously ill by confronting them about their illness, rather than engaging them in pointless philosophical digressions, the confrontation would always be a short one and would end with the religiously ill person seeking a new target to sate their drug. Faced with rock bottom (no one to torture emotionally with their psychological imbalance), Christians are faced with two possibilities: death or change. Only the most desperate person chooses death.

I've made the point before that I have had mentally ill people in my life; I've had a friend suffering from NPD, and my father is an alcoholic. Christians posses the same qualities as these two kinds of people. Not always in the same degrees, but they are always present. As such, I feel that we as ex-Christians should confront Christians about their illness and demand they receive treatment for it.

Perhaps one day in the hopeful future people will have interventions for the mental illness that is called faith in the same way they do for drugs and alcohol.

I have been a believer in Christ for more than 15 years and now I must explain what has happened to my faith. There have been a lot of questions from family and friends, so I wrote this letter as an explanation of sorts. To put it bluntly, I don’t believe in God anymore. To finally come out and say that ‘I do not believe’ has been one of the most heart wrenching experiences of my life. I have been a zealous Christian apologist and I know most of the arguments in favor of the Christian faith intimately. I have a cross tattooed on my arm with the Greek letters for Christ above it. I know many of the key Bible verses in the original Greek as well as English. I am very familiar with all of the church history and the ‘evidences’, and have used them in debates with others who were not Christian. I have at times been a youth leader and have filled in worship leader playing guitar or bass. I have lead small group studies; my evangelical credentials are obvious to all who know me. Please understand, if I could still believe, I would, if for no other reason than it would make life a lot less complicated. Nearly all of my friends and family are strong, dedicated Christian believers and now it seems I am at odds with them. I have questioned myself, am I doing the right thing?

Just how much do I doubt the existence of God, the veracity of scripture, and the Gospel message? I am still the same person you knew before, my character has not changed, only my religious beliefs have changed.I have been fighting this decision for a long time and have gone through periods of trying to “seek the truth and draw close to God” to varying levels of unbelief and back again. God never answered my prayers or spoke to me, so he wasn’t much help when I tried to seek him out. And all the faith in the world was not answering some of the fundamental questions I was having about religion. What follows from here are my reasons for abandoning my belief in God. It is not my intent to convince anyone to see my point of view, only to explain how I arrived at my conclusion. My arguments were developed from others who shared with me their stories of deconversion.

As a Christian I believed in God the Father, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit as a Trinity; angels and demons; prophesy; and the coming judgment and heaven and hell. I believed in the Genesis account of the creation, in a 6000-year-old earth, in Adam and Eve, Noah and his ark, in Elijah and in Elisha. I believed I was chosen by God for eternal life by faith in Christ, in supernatural healings, in words of knowledge, in speaking in tongues, freewill, and in the Bible as God’s perfect revealed word. I was as mainstream Evangelical Christian as the next person with just as orthodox theology as everyone else. I believed in all these things and thought anyone who did not believe in them was a fool. When I met people who believed in another religion or in no religion at all, I was dumfounded as to how they could not see the apparent simple truth and beauty of CHRISTIANITY, because “only a fool says there is not God”. I would think to myself that, “God had put a ‘veil’ over their eyes” or that God had “Hardened their hearts” to the His Truth.

My path to atheism began as I worked on my master’s degree in ancient history. As a student of ancient history, I learned about ancient civilizations and cultures and their attendant mythologies. I wondered how those people could believe in such bizarre stories of gods and goddesses, monsters and demons and fantastical creatures. How could any rational person believe in such wildly absurd things? I never considered the stories I believed in the Bible were just as peculiar as these other ancient tales. I learned that nearly every culture had some form of religion and that religion evolved as a way for man to make sense of his universe. There have literally been tens of thousands of ‘gods’ who have been worshiped at one point or another over the course of human history. People didn’t know how lightning was formed or the mechanics of plate tectonics that cause earthquakes, or why rainbows exist so they invented gods that controlled these “mystically powerful” forces that they could not understand. Some civilizations had hundreds of gods, for fertility, weather, the sun, the harvest, death, and the list goes on. Other cultures decided against the pantheon had just one god that controlled everything himself. As mankind’s understanding and knowledge grows, his needs for a god or god’s to explain the unexplained decreases. Greek sailors don’t need to sacrifice bulls to appease Poseidon before setting out to sea; they just need to check the weather channel first. All of this is summed up succinctly in a quote from the 1700’s makes so much sense to me now:
"If we go back to the beginning we shall find that ignorance and fear created the gods; that fancy, enthusiasm, or deceit adorned or disfigured them; that weakness worships them; that credulity preserves them, and that custom, respect and tyranny support them in order to make the blindness of men serve their own interests."

Man has been searching for explanations since he learned rub sticks together and make fire. Fire was magic at first, but we all know it is a chemical reaction caused by friction and combustible materials in an oxygen rich environment; no fire-god is required. This is a common thread through all of human history. One of the biggest unknown things that man has tried to explain is death. All sentient beings have within them a strong desire to live. Animals don’t commit suicide, and humans as highly intelligent animals, have a strong desire to live. It is this desire to live on that gave birth to the idea of an afterlife. For all living creatures death is inevitable. But because humans are so completely self aware and have the mental ability to contemplate our own deaths, we desire to live forever. Even faith-strong elderly Christians who believe they are going to heaven the very moment they die, wish to stay alive, this is common to all or mankind.

Our death does not need an explanation; it is simply a natural part of life. The Norse had Valhalla, Egyptians the Underworld, Hindu reincarnation, Muslims Paradise, Christians Heaven, and the Jews resurrection. All of these were made by man to give him hope of some way to live on forever. I realized through my study of history that Christianity was but one of a long string of religious ideas that have been around for thousands of years and is in no way unique. I didn’t believe all the weird improbable stories of other ancient religions or myths. Julius Caesar was reportedly born of a virgin; Roman historian Suetonius said the Caesar Augustus bodily rose to heaven after he died; and the Buddha was supposedly born with the ability to speak, Mohammad was a merchant who was visited by angles who gave him the Koran as was Joseph Smith and I dismiss all of these accounts as fables, myths, or outright lies, but accepted the Bible as absolute truth.

Believing in God might give people a false feeling of inner strength, not hoped for, or expected to the atheist. In a similar way, believing in Santa Claus gives a certain magic to Christmas morning not available to the non-Santa-believing child. There may be strength in believing in something, but believing in something, no matter how deeply, does not make that something a reality. Faith does not equal reality.

At first it was terrifying for me to think that the universe is an impersonal place with no plan for the future. If there is no eternal plan, then one day the sun will die, and along with it, all life here on Earth. Humans have a deep need for something to believe in, for a purpose, and it was this need that kept me in the church for as long as it did. I know the Christian response well. This desire to believe is proof of mans “God shaped hole in his soul”, that God formed us with a need to have communion with him. I have used that line and believed it myself for a long time.

Believing in God might be more comforting; giving a worldview that has eternal hopes and possibilities, but again, believing in things even if everyone else does too, doesn't make those things true. Just as children eventually leave behind belief in Santa and the Easter Bunny and tooth fairy, I have left my belief in an invisible omnipresent, omniscient God that dwells in my heart and intervenes in my life. Belief in God is nothing more than a method to provide answers to questions that are unanswerable. Like, what happens when we die? Or, what is the point of life. When I see someone walking down the street talking seriously to himself, I could rightfully judged him to be mentally ill. When I hear children talking to imaginary friends or their dolls, I think they are being cute, but it’s a childish behavior. When I heard people in church, including me, talking to Almighty invisible God, I thought that was perfectly normal. I thought that way because, I was taught to think that way. A 5 year old that believes in Santa is cute, a 40 year old that does is mentally ill and in need of medication. Why do most children believe in Santa but no sane adults do? The answer is simple. Our parents and culture taught us to believe. We are not born with any knowledge of Santa so we were taught about him as we grow up. We were told that he sees us when were sleeping, knows if we have been bad or good, and brings presents to all the good children of the world. We sing songs about Santa and leave offerings of cookies and milk. Savvy parents can use this belief in Santa to great effect in the fall and winter to get kids to behave, lest Santa find out and leave a lump of coal and not a train set. But as we grew older we started to have questions, logical ones that most of us develop around 6 or 7 years old. How does Santa fit down a chimney? How can he eat all of the cookies people leave for him? How can he fit all of those toys on his sled? Why have I never seen him? The questions have no rational answers so gradually it becomes apparent even for young children that Santa is make believe. It is a spirit of goodwill and magic that children can enjoy but wears off as they grow up. But while children stop believing in Santa due to a total absence of any empirical, verifiable evidence of the miraculous claims, people continue to believe in a God who has all of the same features as Santa with no more evidence of existence than an ancient book and what our parents or friends taught us.

I believed that Christianity was the answer to life and the absolute truth. But now I find it irrational to think I believed in a God who created all of the universe in six literal days; that women were created from a man’s rib; a snake, a donkey, and a burning bush all spoke a human language; the entire world was flooded and mankind exterminated like so many cockroaches, covering the highest mountains to drown out evil; all animal species, millions of them, rode on one boat together; language variations stem from the tower of Babel; Moses had a magic wand; the Nile river turned to blood and it rained frogs; witches, wizards, and sorcerers really exist with real powers; food rained from the sky for 40 years; people were cured by the sight of a brass serpent on a pole; the sun stood still to help Joshua win a battle, and it went backward for King Hezekiah; men survived unscathed in a fiery furnace; a detached hand floated in the air and wrote on a wall; 3 men followed a star in the sky which directed them to a particular house; Jesus was born of a virgin mother impregnated by a ghost. Jesus walked on water unaided; fish and bread magically multiplied to feed the hungry; water was turned into wine; mental illness is caused by demons; a “devil” with wings exists who causes all evil; demons can possess animals; people were healed by stepping into a pool stirred up by angels; disembodied voices spoke from the sky; Jesus vanished and later materialized from thin air; people were healed by Peter’s shadow; angels broke people out of jail; a fiery lake of eternal torment awaits unbelievers under the earth ... while there is life-after-death in a city which is 1,500 miles cubed, with mansions and food, for Christians only.

All of these stories violate natural law, contradict science, and fail to correspond with any reality, common sense or logic. I can see that now, and I can separate truth from fantasy, just like I did with Santa. I know all of the rebuttals; God can perform miracles and do what he pleases so we must have faith in him, or better yet, this God did these miracles and is proof of his existence so that we might “know him and his mighty power”, but Jesus comes and said only wicked people seek a sign or proof to believe, so at what point does the argument become circular? I cannot accept these outlandish Bible stories on “faith” anymore. If God does exist and gave us a rational and inquisitive mind, why would he perform irrational acts that defy the natural laws of his creation and not expect us to question the reality of such acts?

As a Christian, I refused to believe any of the extra-Biblical miracles and stories from the ancient world. I don’t know why I never applied the same critical examination to my own beliefs. I wouldn’t believe someone who came up to me and said that a horse spoke to them and neither would you, unless they brought you to the horse and you heard it for yourself. Even then your first reaction would be to look for the hoax, that it was some kind of David Blaine illusion, and not real because you know it is impossible for horses to talk to people. Now, if real, no kidding miracles where happening all the time then it would be plausible to believe the claims in the Bible, because we would live in an irrational universe where irrational actions take place, but alas, we do not. Dead people do not come back to life, men don’t walk on water, and the Sun does not decide to stop in the sky. Coincidences happen, real miracles do not.

The God outlined in the Bible is a warrior God, exactly like so many other ancient tribal religions at the time. Though He allegedly said “Thou shalt not kill,” he ordered death for all His opposition, wholesale drowning and mass exterminations of people; he punishes offspring to the fourth generation for their fathers sins (Ex. 20:5); ordered pregnant women and children to be ripped up (Hos. 13:16); He made demands for sacrifices of animal and human blood to appease His anger; He is partial to one race of people; judges women to be inferior to men; created a hell to torture unbelievers and sinners for all eternity; created evil (Is. 45:7); discriminated against the handicapped, which he himself made!(Lev. 21:18-23); He ordered virgins to be kept as spoils of war and everyone else slaughtered (Num. 31:15-18, Deut. 21:11-14); spread feces on people’s faces (Mal. 2:3); He sent bears to devour children who dared to teas a prophet (II Kings 2:23-24); He punishes people with venomous snakes, wild dogs, dragons, drunkenness, the sword, slavery, arrows, axes, fire, famine, and infanticide; and said fathers should eat their sons (Ez. 5:10). Was that the picture of the all loving God I served?

Then Jesus came and said, “I and my father are one,” and reaffirmed “every jot and tittle” of the Old Testament law. (Mt. 5:18) He preached the same judgment to come: vengeance and death, wrath and distress, hell and torture for all non-believers. Jesus believed in demons, angels and spirits. He never denounced the subjugation of slaves or women. Women were excluded as disciples and as guests at his heavenly table. Except for hell he introduced nothing new to ethics or philosophy. He was disrespectful of his mother and brothers; he said we should hate our parents and desert our families. (Mt. 10:35-36, Lk. 14:26). He denounced anger, but was often angry himself. (Mt. 5:22, Mk. 3:5) He called people “fools” (Mt. 23:17,19), “serpents,” and “white sepulchers,” though he warned that such language puts you in danger of hell. (Mt. 5:22) He said “Think not that I am come to send peace on earth. I came not to send peace, but a sword." (Mt. 10:34) He irrationally cursed and withered a fig tree for being barren out of season, but the Gospel writers couldn’t agree if it happened immediately or the next morning. (Mt. 21:19) He mandated burning unbelievers. (Jn. 15:6) He stole a horse. (Lk. 19:30-33) He told people to cut off hands, feet, eyes and sexual organs. (Mt. 5:29-30, 19:12) Jesus said good works should be seen, then not to be seen. (Mt. 5:16, 6:1-4) The writers of Matthew and Luke could not agree on his genealogy, contradicting the Old Testament, and giving Jesus two discrepant lines through Joseph who wasn’t his father anyway.

I began to develop moral problems with my concepts of original sin, total human depravity, substitutionary forgiveness, intolerance, eternal punishment. I do not believe it is justice to punish someone with eternal torture for a finite crime. Hell is punitive in its nature, there is no corrective purpose other than to make someone suffer in the most horrific manner possible. Yet I once believed that God was just in pronouncing this judgment upon non-believers. Would you or I approve of torture for a crime? Are God’s ways really higher than ours? As a Christian I would say, “We cannot question God’s righteous judgment”. Yes, in fact I can. And I, along with everyone I know, have a much better sense of justice than the God of the Bible does. The Bible says we are all born sinners, all will sin, and all will die as a punishment. So, God created me sinful, and then condemns me for that sin, and then he offers me the cure! Would I bow down and be eternally thankful to someone who poisoned me when they gave me the antidote?

One of the biggest reasons that lead me to unbelief is the problem of evil and suffering. During a course I took in Ancient Greek Philosophy and History, I learned of a philosopher named Epicurus and his logical arguments against the existence of a God/Gods based on the existence of evil in the world. His logic is explained as such:

If a God is willing to prevent evil, but not able to---Then he/she is not omnipotent. If he/she is able, but not willing---Then he/she is malevolent.
If he/she is both able and willing---then where does evil come from?
If he/she is neither able nor willing---Then why call him/her a God?

This argument makes complete sense to me and I am no longer a Christian because I cannot reconcile the existence of a loving God with the superfluous nature of evil in our world. If God is so all-knowing he can perceive evil plans while they are but a dim conception, yet he does not impart this knowledge to us, and as a result we suffer. If God is ever-present, he is there when a child is being raped, a pregnant woman murdered, millions of Jews gassed and when an innocent child is hit by a car. God was there in person and did nothing to stop it. If I were in a room where someone was abusing a child and did nothing to stop it, I would be just as guilty of the crime and liable for whatever happened. But we don’t expect God to stop this evil when any thinking and rational human being would step in and intervene. This evident inaction is not the action of an all loving God. If God is real, he is guilty of negligence on a cosmic order. God had the ability to stop the child from being raped and murdered, but was not willing to lift a finger, making him completely malevolent.

If God is all-powerful then he can prevent these evil acts from happening (He can do this and still allow for free will). This means that the tragic loss of life due to natural disasters could be entirely avoided. After all, God is in control of these things isn’t he? So God sends His natural disasters to make havoc on hummanity, how nice of him. Is he ‘proving his power’ by causing so much human misery? And who is there to step in and help the survivors? God? Nope, it’s sinful human beings coming to help their fellow man. All the pointless bloodshed of the 20th century could have also been completely bypassed, if God could only have “opened the doors” for Hitler to become a successful artist in Vienna and adverted the Holocaust for His ‘chosen people’.

To me, God's power is not evident. If God is all-knowing, then he knows that his failure to act in opposition to incredible evil and tragedy leads people into a state of unbelief. Yet he provides no rational alternative. If God is all-loving, then He WILL DO SOMETHING to stop evil—not sometime in the distant future, but NOW, as any feeling, caring sentient being would, after all “He cares for you”. Yet he consistently does NOTHING and allows evil to befall his people. I know the rebuttal to this as well, “His ways are not our ways, His will is not our will”, or “we have free will that why evil happen, we live in a fallen world”. Or, “God tests us through suffering and tragedy to make us cling to him even more.” That makes God capricious and still malevolent. I could not believe the tales anymore. I had to stop making excuses for my God and stop trying to reconcile his ‘actions’ and ‘inaction’ with the reality of the world around me.

It is all too convenient that the Bible describes God as being the perfect being, but at the same time offers him an out for his imperfect world by placing the all the blame for the evil and imperfection in the world on our ‘sin’. Regardless of what Revelation 20-22 or any other passage of Scripture says about how the story will end, I am deeply disturbed that God apparently has the power to stop evil in his world but does nothing. I avoided using the word "suffering" here because Christians have a tendency to associate it with something noble--and in some situations a person can certainly develop their character from persevering through hardships (think Lance Armstrong). What really troubles me is not the difficulties and trials that we learn and grow from. What troubles me are the cold, brutal acts of evil that leave death, destruction, prolonged pain and misery in their wake.

I know the existence of evil and suffering is a philosophical stumbling block for many people. The primary questions they pose are: "If God is real, and God created everything, why did He create evil?" "Why did a personal, loving God create a world in which evil exists?" "Why did God give man freedom to commit evil acts?" Atheists’ reason, "Surely, an all-knowing God of love would not allow evil to exist in His world." As a Christian I heard these arguments and debated them based on the Biblical apologetics. The response to the question I believed was summed up in God's nature and His plan for mankind. The logic was this; how could God allow for love without the potential for evil? God could have created robots that do nothing more than forever saying, "I love you, I love you, I love you." But such creatures would be incapable of a real loving relationship. Love is a choice, and the Bible says God desires a real love relationship with His creation. Love is not real unless was have the ability to not love. One of God's supposed attributes is omniscience. God knew that in a world with choice, there would be much evil – and to choose not to love is evil by definition. However, there would also be the capacity for real love.

Apologist Alvin Plantinga wrote, "An all loving, all powerful, all knowing Being could permit as much evil as He pleased without forfeiting His claim to being all loving, so long as for every evil state of affairs He permits there is an accompanying greater good".

The potential for love outweighs the existence of evil, especially if that evil can only exist for a finite time. Evil is a side effect of love. Suffering and death are a side effect of evil/sin (Romans 5:12). The Bible says that this side effect is only for a limited time. Evil serves the limited purpose of establishing real love relationships between creation and the Creator, and evil will be done away with after that purpose is achieved.

"And the world passes away, and the lust thereof: but he that does the will of God abides forever" (I John 2:17). That was my established argument for the question of evil. But my perspective began to change as I studied the Bible closely.

In my original argument the presupposition was that love and evil were mutually exclusive. However from the New Testament Luke says: "For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? “For even sinners also love those that love them." (Luke 6:32) Apparently even the wicked are capable of love. Another thought that comes to my mind is that although my wife and I love each other very much, neither of us cares about other men and women in that way. I have no such emotion when it comes to the rest of the women in the world, and she has no interest in other men. I also love my children very much, but other people's children rarely enter my thoughts. The argument that for God or people to experience love, then evil has to exist is false dilemma. I can't help but wonder if I am truly evil, since I do not love every single person in the world. Why is it so impossible for Christians to imagine the likelihood of someone not loving God without being evil in the process? Why couldn't God create creatures with the capacity of either loving Him or not, without them also being murderers, sadists and rapists in the process?

Another attribute of God was that he never changed. "For I am the LORD, I change not" (Malachi 3:6) Since God never changes, what changed that he somehow at some point decided he needed people to love and be loved by? Oh, and I wasn't aware that God needed anything at all. I was under the impression that God was without needs, wants or desires. A desire implies a lack of something in a person. If I desire a meal, it is likely that I lack enough nutrition for the day. I desire things because I need things. I perceive that I lack something and therefore strive to fill that need. Apparently God doesn't have enough love so he needs us. I would have to agree that real love is only real if it is accompanied by the capacity and choice to not love. However, as I tried to illustrate above, the ability to not love someone does not equate to evil. I do not love lots of people, but I do not hate them and wish all manner of evil on them. But this is exactly the way I see God's love. For example God loves a certain person. The person is not interested in God for whatever reason. God feels like his love has been spurned. God demonizes the person who is just not interested in his love and calls him or her evil. God gets angry and shouts, “I will carry out great vengeance on them and punish them in my wrath. Then they will know that I am the LORD, when I take vengeance on them.”(Ezek 25:17) and sends them off to rot in eternal torment in hell forever and ever for the ‘sin’ of not loving Him.

The “free will” defense as the answer to the problem of evil, but let’s look at “free will” for a second. The Christian God loves me so much that he gives me the opportunity to live blissfully forever in His presence, or be horribly tortured for all eternity in Hell. What kind of “free will” choice is that? It’s like someone holding a blowtorch to your face and demanding a confession or they will melt out your eyes out. Not really a fair choice there is it? Does God really want me to serve Him and confess my need and love for him to avoid the torture He created for me if I don’t? Is a confession extracted under torture or the threat of torture reliable and sincere? If I love God, and he is my savior and watched over me and was in control of everything, why does He allow me to suffer so much? Is it to make me love Him all the more? In Psychology it’s called the “battered wife syndrome”. “But he really loves me”, is what abused wives say to justify the pain their husbands put them through. Or, “I deserved it”. How much did God really love Job? I now say that if Job really loved God after all he put him through he was suffering like that battered wife.

At this very moment somewhere in the world a child is being molested. These are horrible crimes that destroy childhood innocence. After the act is over the shame, self-hate, bitterness, anxiety, distrust, and scars never go away. All of this stays with a victim for life. Worse still, many of the perpetrators go undiscovered and unpunished. There is simply no value in this tragedy, none at all, and I was tired of all of the excuses offered by the Church and systematic theology. What angers me is the thought that a holy, loving, omnipresent God would stand by and do nothing while a child is raped and then buried alive in a shallow grave. After all he is there in the same room as the child and the molester. Christians believe that God would punish those could do something, but chose to do nothing. Heck, they believe that the courts should punish someone who could have stopped the crime and did nothing. And yet...God still does nothing. This is where the free-will defense comes to bear. Yet, there are stories of God intervening (even hardening the hearts) of men when it suits his purposes. If molestation is not worth intervening in, then I don't know what is. What is God’s purpose in allowing this? Does it make sense to you? It seems entirely incongruent with His character to stand on the sidelines and watch. So, I am left to conclude that such a God does not exist.

As I have gone on, I have gathered more insight and realized that I have not believed in God for a very long time, and here is another analogy why. When I wrecked my shoulder, did I go to church first or to the hospital for help? If my house was on fire with my family trapped inside, would I kneel and pray before or after I called the fire department? Most sane people, including myself, answer these questions the same. If my house were on fire and my wife and the children were trapped inside and I did nothing but pray to God to save them, would you think I was ‘holy’ and ‘spiritual’? Or would you rightfully think me criminally negligent?

When it comes to the truly important, urgent, and practical things in life, did people trust God to be a “very present help in trouble” (Psalm 46), or when we need present help in times of trouble do we go to our fellow humans? The answer is obvious; when I need “very present help in trouble”, the number I call is 911, not the local church. And why is that? Is God unable to help me in my time of urgent need? Is He unwilling? Or is it that, when the stakes are at their highest, the matter is urgent, and most importantly the consequences are something you can actually see, is your faith in man greater than your faith in God? Mine is.I have faith in mankind, because I trust my experiences. Regardless of how many poetic Bible verses I can recite that promise God’s help in times of need, no matter how fervently I argued against non-Christians, no matter how enthusiastically I shared the Gospel, when the chips are down and it comes to something urgent and real, I wholeheartedly rely upon ‘sinful’, imperfect people. Did this say something negative about me as a Christian? I don’t think so; I think it says something very real about God. When it comes to anything we can see, hear, touch, taste, or smell, God does not live up to His Word. He is not here or there and I knew it and no matter how I tried to reconcile it, it faith just didn’t work.

I have come to accept that God does not exist, and since one cannot logically prove a universal negative, it is incumbent upon the one the making the positive claim to prove God’s existence.

As a Christian, I could not prove God’s existence without circular reasoning so I gave up trying. Praying for God to ‘reveal’ himself to me was not working to well. Here is what I was taught to believe:

Premise #1: The God of the Bible is real because the Bible says so.
Premise #2: The Bible is true because the God in the Bible says so.
Premise #3: Any questions or doubts, reverts back to premise #1.

Naturally I recognize that this is an oversimplification of the matter, but none-the-less this to a large degree, succinctly encapsulates the Christian “proofs” of God’s existence and involvement with humans. Then there is the other ‘proofs’ which are the very subjective claims of “personal relationships” and “changed hearts”. But I now see this “relationship with Jesus” was ridiculous. If he was real and cared about ‘His’ people and was involved in their lives, what does it say about God when I believed he answers my prayer for a great promotion at work, but ignored the prayers of others suffering from starvation and genocide?

As a Christian, I would demand irrefutable proofs for what I considered the outlandish claims of evolutionists and atheists. Yet I never demanded the same type of evidence for the even more remarkable claims of the supernatural made in the Bible. My thought process seems so much clearer now than it was when the “eyes of faith” and “my heart” guided me. There can really be only one explanation as I look back in retrospect: I believed only what I wanted to believe.

Whether or not I have something better than Christianity has to offer is not relevant to the question of the existence of the biblical God. What is pertinent is that I am honest with myself by demanding the application of the same type of evidence to the claims of religion as are expected of scientists and again for me the proof comes up short. There is no proof of God, only by faith.

In conclusion, I do not believe in unicorns, ghosts, elves, goblins, Bigfoot, UFO’s, Cyclopes, Zeus, Thor, the Loch Ness Monster, Allah, Buddha, Astrology, Greek Gods, Roman Gods, Chupacabra, Vishnu or Brahma, or Christ. There is no credible evidence for any of their existence. I know this is a shock to the family and will cause division. I wish I could keep on pretending I believe for the sake of peace, but I cannot in good conscious do that anymore. I am not ‘led astray’ or ‘demon possessed’ because they don’t exist. I hold that everyone is entitled to believe as they wish, and I will not try and “de-convert” anyone around me. If anyone asks how I came to this conclusion, I will tell them why. Hopefully this letter explains that. In the end, everyone is an atheist when you think about it, if you don’t believe in Poseidon, Zeus, Mars, Krishna, Allah et. al. you are an atheist when it comes to those deities and don’t believe in their existence. I just happen to believe in one fewer god than you do.

I'd like to take time to thank the bible god for coming down from heaven (the clouds above) and give us a virgin birth saviour, and only after 4000 years did he devise his brilliant holy plan, so whomever lived and died before the flying dead zombie jew was murdered they are all burning in hell right now. Thanks bible god! You must be so smart.

It pained Him to sacrifice HIS son? Wasn't HIS son actually HIM in the flesh? He sacrificed HIMSELF, to HIMSELF, to appease HIMSELF! For the (SINS) that HE HIMSELF created and allowed to exist in the first place! And, HE didn't stay dead!?! HE suffered for a few hours! And is now back with HIMSELF in HEAVEN, WOW! What amazing sacrifice that must have been! BUT if you do not believe that nonsense, you will go to HELL. What LOVE and COMPASSION? What ridiculous BS!

I think we've all had enough lies and threats of an imaginary hell.

The Bible is nothing more than comprised bunch insane words of garbage, written by ancient roaming and wondering doped-up tribal rag-head gypsies, it holds no truth, not one thing written in the bible or koran can be proved [PERIOD]

Remember December on 25th to burn all religious materials you can find and burn them, shred or mutilate them either in private or public.

The Temptation Of False Faith

I want to believe. I want to have faith. I want to live like a child again, believing in things like Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny and in fantastical worlds where one could wrap a cape on their shoulders and fly through the air, invulnerable to pain or threat...But the truth is...well, we see it when we read these posts, and consider these arguments.

We see and read Christians using convoluted arguments to either justify the lack of evidence or consistency in their religion...one which I used to revel in with them. Their theology, use of science, philosophy...all impressive. But I hear in their voices and arguments an anger at something...which I think may be the loss of innocence in their religion. They no longer share the magic of belief...they have encountered the reality of failed or non-existent evidence, God has failed them, so now they fall back on circulur, sophomoric arguments. They attack their opponents, they insult or challenge without reason the methods of discourse...all because their God has failed them, or they have lost the simple, innocent child-like quality of simple belief.

I understand. I wish I could believe.
I wish I could:- pray, and believe God was going to answer;- pray, and actually see an answered prayer;- lay hands on the sick and watch them recover;- speak to mountains and watch them move into the sea (or, as an environmentalist, speak to deforested and denuded mountains and watch them become green again)- raise the dead- walk on water (hell, I can't even ski)- command weather, save New Orleans- walk through the valley of the shadow of death and fear no evil- do these other things, even greater things, that Jesus did (and promised I could do) - tithe, and see prosperity returned to me- speak in tongues!- prophecy about the future- have visions (without pharmaceutical help)- believe that a questionably historical figure actually died for my "sins" and that it meant something; and that it wasn't such a crazy idea to be so appealing- absolutely know that my existence will continue when I die, or that my father is in heaven, ready to meet me when I get there (wink, wink).I could go on and on.

The promises of religion...no 72 virgins for Christians, but promises just the same...are multitudinous. But that one time, that first time, when the believer prays - not a shallow, vacuous prayer like "please let me be on time" but, with tears, "please heal my father" or "please save that nation"...and nothing happens...the dominoes begin to fall, and what is left is high-sounding arguments of convoluted philosophy. I awoke one night wondering why do so many Christians and Muslims get offended when an unbeliever makes a statement that is against or refutes their religious beliefs.

The answer is this, it's simply because their trustworthy Gods and saviors have abandoned them. Their Gods say to just ask or pray in their name, but nothing ever gets done by their empty promises. So now, by undue influence the faithful believers have made a public commitment and a public profession with their mouths, they cannot and will not openly admit that they have been totally snookered and bamboozled into joining a false belief.

Naturally this would make anyone furious when someone comes along and points out what an arrogant insidious arrogant fool they have been for believing in something that their ill-informed granny or their uncle or mommy or daddy have guaranteed to them upon a pledge of surety that they are following a true correct belief, that was invented by insane people over 2000 years ago.

Although we were all put here and born without our own consent, Christians are told that they are worthless human beings and sinners and deserve to be sent to hell, unless of course they receive the gift of salvation, ironically this does not keep them from committing further sins or crimes, it just promises to save them from the sins that they have already committed and from the sins they have yet to commit, this teaching is so way beyond insane.

They see all the glorious believers and churches all across America and wonder how can all this many people be wrong? In their minds, they think it would be an easier task to convert a few hand full of nonbelievers like me, rather than to investigate why over a million believers who swear that they have had a personal relationship with an invisible holy spirit, they think how could this many people have been fooled, if it weren't true? Although they would never take in the consideration that millions of Muslims also hold to their faith as being the one true religion, and without one shred of evidence on either side, except for words written in their holy books.

Yet in spite of and armed with absolutely no evidence of a holy spirit, god, jesus, angels, demons, miracles, virgin births, blessings, holy ghosts, witches, demons, evil spirits, speaking in tongues, talking snake, talking donkey, talking bushes, still a Christian insists in believing in this insane 2000 year old Biblical nonsense.

Christians should realize what kind of nonsense they are trying to defend and just how ignorant it makes them look to people who do not believe in their ancient bronze-age superstitious stupidity.

Greatly assuming a god-like man created the universe and too, greatly assuming we have a soul, who then is in ultimate control of everything? Would it be the people whom wrote the bible, since they took it upon themselves to say that their words were inspired by a god?

The bible and christians say that it is we, ourselves and up to us who decide where we will spend our eternal destiny, but not being in control of our own very existence, this would be over-riding the creator gods' ultimate authority.

Wouldn't a creator god be the one to decide where we will spend eternity? If the bible god is the creator of a human soul, then it would be totally up to him/she/it (the assumed creator god)to decide where our assumed souls will spend eternity, not by a bunch of mentally deranged men whom wrote the bible, whom said it is what we chose to believe in our hearts, which determines our eternal destiny.

This is an erroneous statement, because our hearts do not choose to do anything, it's only function is to pump blood, but the bible writers thought that blood had some mystical powers, they also thought that their imaginary god above knew when blood was spilled upon the ground and therefore required animal sacrifices of blood and then later, his own son's blood.

If this god wants us to be with him for eternity, then billions of people have lived and died on this planet, yet this god wants everyone to be with him, but the bible says it's up to us, then who really is in control here? Can't this god do nothing on his own, without consulting the bible writers first?

What is he scared of, to be alone or something? Wouldn't say just a couple of thousand people's souls be enough for this god to not feel alone, he supposedly has all those angels, they being all male BTW???

Who is in charge here, the bible god, or the people who wrote the bible and wrote what they imagined what a god would be like? Or is it our own pitiful imaginations who created a god to protect us, a do-nothing god, that we have to imagine through faith to help us with nothing?

Over six million of this Gods chosen people (Jews) prayed for this gods help, he had over four years to intervene, he could have caused Hitler to have a stroke, or a heart attack, or a stray bullet to kill him without anyone knowing that a god had intervened, but he chose not to, why? Christianity and all religions were created by men to try to justify their own existence, by our being here from the natural course of sexual desire of our fathers. The scriptures are completely "arbitrary", which is best understood as "meaningless".

That is exactly like metaphor, the bible, metaphorically written, becomes exactly what a person wants to "make it mean". Thus, it is "arbitrary", and can mean as many things as there are people on this planet. Now, one could argue that it's cool to have a word or even a canon mean anything a person wants to interpret it to mean, but then... that means the bible is meaningless as providing an objective direction for a people to follow.

In other words, there can be no "True Christian", because everyone can make the claim using their own interpretation of the bible... no one can define "morality", because the bible is completely "interpretable"... and the second some moron suggests it isn't "interpretable", that it is, word for word, written by the "hand of God", then it becomes "conflicted", because of the thousands of "conflicts" found in the bible...Two people looking at a billboard picture may have two entirely different perspectives of that picture. The same holds for characters on a page..

Until words have equal meaning for people, then they are arbitrary, and "meaningless".

I quite well understand the bible verses, and how they conflict... God per the Christian is loving, yet wades in blood, is jealous, and created "hell" before creating earth on the sixth day according to the bible, suggesting the Christian God deliberately created the earth for the purpose of sending people to eternal torment "forever"... knowingly, willingly, and deliberately

The problem with theology, is that it's intent isn’t' to provide answers to questions... it's intent to to provide unanswerable "questions"... and further, to suggest that "everyone" should take these questions and spend their lives seeking answers to these "particular" questions..

I'd suggest that there is not a single person who has "the" correct understanding of "any" verse of the bible... because, the entire bible is "arbitrary", written with metaphor, mythology, and numerous other literary devices, that can be interpreted as one wants, according to their whims.
I can take a verse and interpret it as a metaphor and "spin" it in the direction of "good", but the exact "same" verse, I could "spin" in a manner that creates suffering.

That is exactly the "point"... because, Christianity has "no" ability to give "concrete" meaning to its words in a book, it can be used for "anything" a person wants to use it for.

And, whenever a so called Christian shows up, to suggest "they" have the "right" interpretation, it only shows their "lack of education" in the matter...The point, isn't that a verse "can be" interpreted for "good"... the point is, it can be interpreted to mean "anything", and is therefore, "useless" as a definitive "guide" for "anything".

The word supernatural, as defined as that which escapes the Natural, is absurd...The pondering of the word itself is done with the natural mind...The word "supernatural", is a suggestion that there "exists" more than "nature", yet Nature is required in order to present the concept of "supernatural"... thus, the term is hopelessly absurd... it must "reject" the very thing that gives it "meaning"... Nature...A theologian would likely suggest, that studying questions with words like "supernatural" in them, is noble, just, and the way to live a good life...A philosopher would likely suggest, as I would, that studying questions with words that have no "meaning", are "arbitrary" (can mean anything a person wants them to mean), or are quite "absurd"... is a "waste of time"... the only gain that can be made in studying such "questions" is to finally realize that such questions are invalid, and can not "ever" lead to a single "Truth" or "Answer"...I find life valuable, and my time is better spent "learning" what I can... not believing in what I can't know.
