The evidence of genuine allegiance to faith is persecution.
To seal the deal in the minds of Christians that they have chosen the right faith as explained by the following supposed quotes from Jesus. It is foretold!
Matthew 24: 8-14
Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
Mark 13: 8-13
Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places, and famines. These are the beginning of birth pains. 9 "You must be on your guard. You will be handed over to the local councils and flogged in the synagogues. On account of me you will stand before governors and kings as witnesses to them. 10 And the gospel must first be preached to all nations. 11 Whenever you are arrested and brought to trial, do not worry beforehand about what to say. Just say whatever is given you at the time, for it is not you speaking, but the Holy Spirit. 12 "Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child. Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. 13 All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.
Luke 21: 12-19
But before all this, they will seize you and persecute you. They will hand you over to synagogues and put you in prison, and you will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name. 13 And so you will bear testimony to me. 14 But make up your mind not to worry beforehand how you will defend yourselves. 15 For I will give you words and wisdom that none of your adversaries will be able to resist or contradict. 16 You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers and sisters, relatives and friends, and they will put some of you to death. 17 Everyone will hate you because of me. 18 But not a hair of your head will perish. 19 Stand firm, and you will win life.
Just what a Christian loves to hear, about how they are so right and everyone else is wrong!
If a Christian is cornered or criticized or questioned for their beliefs then this is proof in the Christians mind that they have wisely chosen, the right book of truth, the right religion, the right belief, the absolute right truth and will be rewarded until the end with a crown of righteousness and a mansion to reward their faithfulness.

That just goes to show how stupid Christians who claim persecution as a validation of the truth of their beliefs are. If that were all that was needed then you would have to include atheists and other groups who were also persecuted for their beliefs or non beliefs as well.
Let's see witches, atheists, and a slew of pagans were all executed for their beliefs or lack of beliefs in fact, it was the Christian church doing the persecuting. Six million Jews died during the holocaust so I guess that makes Judaism true. Oh, but in the messed up mind of a Christian none of that counts. It only applies to their beliefs.
Absolutely right Chat, although the Christian is not worried about atheists, witches, or pagans' persecution, their personal beliefs are the one's to them that hits the mark. They are a bunch of deluted idiots.

Most everybody wants to be viewed as a good person, but Christians have been led to believe that Christianity is the path to being cited as a good person.
It's funny that you mentioned that Steven, even as a Christian I couldn't stand the 700 club. Regarding being a good person, you don't need Jesus or Christianity for that. I find that Christianity fosters hypocrisy. What else can you expect from a religion and worldview built entirely upon lies?
