John 3:16

God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whomever shall believeth in him, shall not perish but have everlasting life.

Translation: There is a God and he is such a great wonderful loving god that he came down from the clouds and inseminated a young virgin girl, to have himself (disguised as god), murdered(sacrificed) to save people from their sins in order to save them from the hell that he himself created, but only if you're stupid and gullible enough to believe something written down by a man with very little knowledge some 2000 years ago.

What a guy, that god…eh?

Short but sweet Steven, the fact that anyone could believe that story just illustrates how gullible man can be.

In all of our history on this planet we have worshipped the elements of nature, astral bodies, other people, animals, and finally completely made up deities.

Gods are nothing more than the inventions of man and his/her fertile imagination. I agree with Hitchens that religious beliefs are the product of primitive thinking in an age where knowledge of our world was scarce.

There is comfort in the idea of a good and loving sky daddy watching over us and who is in control of every aspect of our lives.

I personally find that idea offensive and appalling.

Very well said my dear friend!

The NT exemplifies the greatest promise of an afterlife of grandeur that will unfortunately never be played out, but places a powerful pseudo comfort in the minds of the gullible in the hopes that their greatest wishes will be some day fulfilled. Like winning the Heavenly Lottery with the believer being lucky enough to be holding the winning ticket, named Jesus!

It reminds me very much like the movie, Wizard Of Oz, I personally believe the movie was fashioned from the NT myth promise of a heavenly paradise.

Not only was knowledge scarce, scientific knowledge was scorned and against the scriptures and was deemed as from the mean ole devil, Satan.

Many Christians of today as you know, still believe that scientific knowledge is of this world and of Satan, yet they gladly ride around in their Satan inspired automobiles, planes, use computers, microwave ovens and cell phone technology, the word Christian may as well be translated into the word hypocrite!

Lmao!! So true Steven, Christians excel at hypocrisy. They one the one hand show a disdain for science while on the other enjoying the many benefits that science has given us.

Science is only objectionable when it challenges the realms of faith. Theists sound like parrots when they try to dispute scientific facts. They state the same nonsensical arguments over and over again.

Their apparent favorite argument is the old "if there is no God then where do you think morals come from?", and no matter what you reply no answer can satisfy them.

I think morals come from every living animal knows not to over step it's own boundaries.

Even wild animals do not usually attack humans or other animals unless it feels threatened or for natural prey for it to eat.

As for humans doing harm to other humans, there's usually a mental breakdown or a deep seated issue that a person feels the need for justification through violence or a feeling of retribution to "get even or to get back at someone".

Even with that said, it's still a persons own decision to act upon those feelings and not from a little devil setting on one's shoulder coaxing them as the Bible clearly states, it's not of our doing but of an evil spirit, being therefore a man cannot be held fully accountable for his actions, because he is being influenced by an invisible evil spirit.

Thusly the Bible claims that man needs to be saved from the evil being that the Bible god created in the first place....How stupid is that???

This magnificent pile of shit destroyed by the god of lightning!!!
